Our story
Adrienne Permar, massage therapist and entrepreneur, is the owner and Director of Oconee School of Therapeutic Massage. Since the opening of the school in 2020, she has wanted to offer professional-level massage therapy in addition to student clinic massage. In 2024, she decided to open the professional studio at 29 N Main St in Watkinsville. Her goal was to offer massage therapy that went beyond relaxation or cookie-cutter treatments. She trains each of her therapists to listen first to client needs and goals and design a treatment aimed at helping clients live more functionally and freely, with fewer limitations of pain.
Rather than add-ons, we allow the therapists to work with the client to find the right tool for the job. You might experience cupping for myofascial relief, use of the massage gun to promote muscle relaxation without pain, or heated bamboo to release tension in stuck areas. Therapists will use their judgment and knowledge to give you options for how you will use your time during the massage: do you want to work only on your neck? Would it be helpful to take a more global approach? Book a treatment today to experience what our therapists can do for you!
Meet the team

“Touching hands are not like pharmaceuticals or scalpels. They are like flashlights in a darkened room. The medicine they administer is self-awareness. And for many of our painful conditions, this is the aid that is most urgently needed.”
-Deane Juhan, Job’s Body
